I support the team in our mission to future-proof European health systems through circularity. I manage a portfolio of projects and oversee the implementation of our EU advocacy strategy for strategic public procurement, circular economy, and sustainable supply chains.
After studying bioengineering, I conducted doctoral research on microbial treatment of greenhouse gases. It then became very clear to me that we are exceeding the capacity of the planet.
After a stint with the Flemish environmental inspection services, I started as a sustainability coordinator at Ghent University, Belgium. With the development of a Green Office, I joined the battle for a better and healthier environment, with circularity as one of my focal points.
Before joining HCWH, I coordinated the start-up of an exploratory research project on circular healthcare in Belgium. It convinced me that there is still an extraordinary amount of work to be done in this sector.
In my spare time, I regularly take young adults on trips across Europe as a travel guide. Meanwhile, I am fighting for more (night)trains in Europe, not least to my beloved Portugal. Anyone who likes a fresh pastry will do well to keep me company!
